Printed Parts

Process: Lithography, embossing
Media: Ink on paper
Year: 2019

Intrinsically interesting mechanical parts began to collect over time. Saved from the recycler because of their strange allure or an odd repetitive patterning perhaps. A truck transmission was sliced, revealing its microcircuitry-like baffling, gear clusters too regal for the junk-heap. On one dark evening, they rallied as group, over to the hand lithography press to take-on a second-life as lithographic prints subjects.  In the end, a series of abstract printed-parts came forward. Most are overprinted on rag-content pages from a 1900’s Parisian architecture folio book.  A second life for all involved.
